The Ann Arbor T-shirt Company is composed of dozens of artists, screen printers, art technicians, logistics professionals, embroiderers, and support staff, all operating out of Ann Arbor, Michigan (about 40 miles west of Detroit). We proudly design, print, and embroider the majority of our products completely in our Ann Arbor, MI factory.

Our illustrators and designers create the artwork, which art technicians then convert into CAD style files the embroidery machine can read. Embroidery technicians select threads and operation settings to ensure optimal stitching, sewing the design into the fabric. Finally, our warehouse team checks quality, bags, and boxes the apparel for fulfillment centers across the country.

When you buy one of our products, your money is supporting businesses across the country. The percentages vary between products as input prices fluctuate, but for the most part, it looks something like this: 35% in Ann Arbor for design, printing, and production; 22% in Seattle for advertising and platform fees; 6% in Cincinnati for apparel distribution; 4% in Atlanta for logistics; 4% in Roselle, IL for printing presses and equipment; 4% in Texas and the Southwest for cotton farming; 3% in Toluca, Mexico for fabric sewing; and 1% in Pineville, NC for screen printing inks.

Screen printing is like cooking - it's not rocket science, but it's really easy to screw up if you cut corners or use sub-par ingredients. That's why we hire, train, and retain skilled professionals with internal apprentice and educational programs. We also pay a bit more for top-shelf QCM inks that are better for the environment, more vibrant, and longer-lasting. Lastly, we invest in the best M&R screen printing presses and support equipment, allowing our printers to move faster with less waste, and enabling us to create high-quality products at a lower cost, which we pass on to you.
